Climate change is happening now.
On my bike trip I saw glaciers melting and retreating in Argentina and forests in Canada being destroyed by fire beetles that are now surviving warmer winters.
I returned to the UK in October 2007 and started work in 2008 for a small environmental charity called ClientEarth as a climate and energy lawyer.
A large part of what I do now involves trying to stop new unabated coal power stations being built in the UK.
To learn more about how dangerous coal power stations are to the planet's climate system check out the link below to Reality a really really good US website campaign (with link to latest campaign advert made by the Cohen brothers).
Please sign up and pass it on.

With global talks on climate change coming up in December, we are reaching a critical time for climate action. But the UK government is still considering plans for dirty coal power station at Kingsnorth, the most polluting way to create electricity.
If the government consent dirty coal at Kingsnorth, they will be creating a climate catastrophe.
What will you do if the UK government appove new coal at Kingsnorth? Tell Ed Miliband by taking The Big If pledge now.
The Big If is led by The World Development Movement together with other organisations through the Stop Climate Chaos coalition.
Together they represent more than ten million people.
The Big If
...anyway back to the bike trip...
...the starting point...

...the highest point...

...the windiest point...

...the hairiest point...

...the wettest point...

...the saltiest point...

...the most romantic point...

...the finishing point...

...and the real point.
